I’m a neurotechnologist, innovation strategist, and science communicator exploring the power of thought. I work as the Neurotech Innovation Strategist and Marketing Leads Blackrock Neurotech and create educational and entertaining videos about brain-computer interfacing through my social channels as The BCI Guy.
I admire human cognition and consciousness and have dedicated myself to expanding and protecting them. Neurotechnologies have the power to liberate persons afflicted with neurological maladies and expand human potential. Although I’m bullish on these technologies, I believe in the importance of developing ethical, legal, and cultural boundaries to create a brain-controlled, equitable, and beneficial future.
Neurotechnologist
When I was 13, I worked on a theoretical design for a robot exo-suit that would help the disabled walk around. Struggling with the control system, I thought, “What if I could use electric signals from my brain to control the suit?” Through my research, I saw a new vision for the future. From this point on, I would seek to make technology more human and reinvent how we communicate through the power of human thought and brain-computer interface.
Innovation Strategist
I create opportunities and achieve results by forming and working within high-performing teams to drive technological and workplace innovation. I always take the time to listen to my peers and try to inspire leaders around me. I challenge the status quo and get the job done. What drives me is an innate love and respect for human consciousness. Nothing motivates me more than to see people performing at their best, creating new value, enabling more experiences, and unlocking new knowledge.
Science Communicator
As I’ve jumped from different STEM projects and disciplines I’ve consistently found that my favorite part is getting others excited and engaged in science (usually of the brain variety). I’ve spoken at conferences, MakerFaires, hackathons, universities, companies, and schools to people of all ages and disciplines. My goal is to engage everyone from subject matter experts, patients and clinicians, and the general public in an open conversation.
