Value Proposition
About
This project was created for the 2021 Cleveland NeuroDesign Entrepreneurs Workshop. The workshop, held at Case Western University, educates students in the BioDesign process to “explore all aspects of healthtech entrepreneurship — all through the lens of neurotechnology.” Students went through a rigorous program, developing a solution for a clinical case. Students met with esteemed faculty members to work on their pitch before delivering it in front of a panel of judges. Harrison was the youngest member to be accepted into the cohort.
Clinical Observation
Many patients have problems maintaining their balance at home. Patients have an issue of overconfidence in their abilities at home (don’t use cane/walker or take more risks) and fall. Falls happen often in patients with dementia due to lack of attention to surroundings
Needs Statement
A way to match perceived and real capabilities of balance in patients with dementia to reduce falls.
